New in Ligna Hannover 2013: ligna.career job and careers platform

Trade fairs are not just about finding new customers and business partners; they are also important employment hubs. To match jobseekers with employers more efficiently, LIGNA 2013 will feature ligna.career, a brand new job and careers platform.

Companies looking for new employees or trainees, seeking to fill vacant positions or simply wanting to build their network of HR contacts will be able to mount their own exhibition stand at the new dedicated display area in Hall 16. The display area will be complemented by a careers forum featuring expert presentations on recruitment, professional training and development and business start-ups. ligna.careers, which will also comprise a job exchange, is a joint production by Deutsche Messe and the furniture and interior finishing trade publications dds and BM .

LIGNA is the world?s most important tradeshow for the wood processing industries. It is also the ideal event for companies seeking to build and enhance their human resources, given the many thousands of trade visitors from the forestry, wood processing, bioenergy and woodworking sectors it attracts.? The same applies, the other way round, to students, career starters and established industry professionals looking to find or change jobs. For these groups, LIGNA represents a unique opportunity to meet all the top employers in the industry at one convenient location.

ligna.career will cater for two key theme areas and target groups. It will provide a wealth of information on professional training and development options and help those who plan to start up or already run their own business. All LIGNA exhibitors and all universities, training institutions, industry associations and recruitment agencies are eligible to mount and additional stands in the ligna.career display area. Deutsche Messe and its partners will market ligna.career to students, career starters, industry professionals interested in further education, master tradespeople and small business owners.

The first three days of the careers forum in Hall 16 will focus on apprentice training and professional development. Days four and five will be dedicated to self-employment. Each presentation will be supported by? real-life case studies. Attendees can look forward to a wealth of valuable expert advice and guidance on how to navigate the job market.
?
To round out the ligna.career offering, the dds and BM magazines will launch the ?ligna.career/Jobs? online job portal where users can post descriptions of jobs sought or trainee positions offered free of charge. LIGNA exhibitors will be able to post job offers on the portal at discounted rates. Both publications will be promoting the job portal in their written and online editions. Ligna.career/Jobs will go live in November this year.
